Tasting Notes:

The nose opens like a rickhouse dessert cart with chocolate-covered dark cherries and hints of lemon meringue pie with a buttery crust dusted in powdered sugar, surrounded by straight-from-the-rack oak and a hint of crushed walnut. Let the nose settle in the glass for 15 minutes and out comes more sweet dark berries, grape, and a gentle lavender, providing layers that can be explored all night before even taking a sip.

The palate follows through with whipped cream, cherries, and berries over milk chocolate and a spark of lemon zest. Upfront sweet oak swells into the mid-palate where the berry and grape tones return, then a measured spice kicks in. The mouthfeel is velvety and viscous, drinking richer than the modest proof suggests. The finish is long and layered as oak and chocolate take the lead while whipped cream and crushed walnut linger, a touch of vanilla ice cream recalling an old-school sundae parlor. Consecutive sips reveal a faint floral that progressively echoes while charred oak carries it all home.  This is a blast from the past, more similar to a low-proof Indiana single barrel circa 2015 rather than 2025.
